Covers: Asbestos (siding, tile, pipe wrap, popcorn ceiling)
No
Short answer: Never in a regular dumpster. Asbestos has to be packaged and taken to a landfill approved for it.
EPA's asbestos NESHAP requires asbestos waste to be sealed wet in leak-tight containers, labeled, and sent to a landfill qualified to receive it. Single-family homes (4 or fewer units) are generally exempt from NESHAP work rules, but states fill the gap: Maryland says homeowners may not put asbestos in household trash. NERC counts 14 states with asbestos disposal bans, and Bagster and Dumpsters.com prohibit it.
